Bert replaced all halogen lamps in Hall W and B.
We've replaced over 1,000 old lamps (such as fluorescent tubes, gas-pressure lamps, and halogen bulbs) with 500 new LED lamps or floodlights. The new lamps are much brighter and distribute the light optimally, allowing us to work more effectively. The lamps are easier on the eyes and consume less energy.
The investment cost approximately CHF 70,000. We're saving 100,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. That's as much as 20 single-family homes consume in a year. After about three years, we'll have recouped the cost of the new lights.
