Dear colleagues,
The cold season is just around the corner and we would like to inform you that we have already taken measures to save energy. Last winter we set the heating temperatures in halls B and W to 19 °C and in the office to 21 °C . This decision helps the environment, saves energy and also has financial benefits. By using less heating oil, we have less harmful effects on nature.
Please do not use fan heaters as they consume a lot of energy and thus negate our energy saving efforts. Therefore, the use of electric fan heaters is not permitted.
We would also like to stress that tilting the windows does not help to save energy. In order not to cool the building down unnecessarily, we ask you to apply the principle of shock ventilation : open the windows wide for about 5 minutes and then close them again. This way we achieve effective air exchange without the building cooling down too much.
