Sustainability at Steinemann AG

Summary
During 2023, Steinemann AG intensified its efforts to strengthen sustainability practices, making significant progress in the areas of environment, social responsibility and corporate governance. With an overall score of 67, well above the industry average of 60 points, the company has demonstrated that significant improvements are possible through targeted initiatives and the implementation of innovative solutions.
Overall, our sustainability score increased by 5 points from 62 in 2021 to 67 points. The improvement was particularly noticeable in the social area, where we were able to increase from a below-average 51 points to a remarkable 71 points. That is an improvement of over 20 points in just 3 years.
This report aims to highlight the various measures that have led to these improvements and to provide an outlook on the company's future plans.

Environment
Steinemann AG's environmental initiatives this year were characterized by an increased focus on energy efficiency and renewable resources. By installing a photovoltaic system, the company was able to generate more energy than it consumes, which is an important step towards a positive energy balance. The conversion to LED lighting in the operating facilities and the implementation of energy-saving measures during non-operational times have also contributed to reducing energy consumption. This leads to an excellent score in the "Energy and Waste" sub-area.
Despite these advances, compliance with environmental sustainability remains a challenge, especially in areas such as employee mobility and waste management. To address these challenges, the company plans to intensify its recycling efforts and promote alternative transportation solutions that should further reduce its environmental footprint.

The clear definition of responsibilities, the strengthening of ethical principles and the consistent adherence to compliance guidelines have increased the transparency and trust of all stakeholders in the company.
